Principles of Growth

I am retired! I still teach and consult occasionally, but my days of working long hours, nights and weekends are over. I spend time with friends, read, reflect on my experiences, and have fun.

I was a teacher, banker, consultant, strategist, and talent manager. The throughline in all of these roles? Helping businesses grow. Helping people grow personally, professionally, spiritually, and as leaders.  Over the next few weeks I want to share my “Principles of Growth.” Insights from a life guiding the growth of people and businesses.

Growth Principle #1: Money is Energy

Concept:

Think of money as the physical representation of the collective energy of people in the world.

The energy flows to people who are the most talented, positive, and passionate.  The energy flows to ideas that impact the most people.  Remember this impact could be positive or negative.

A banker sees many great ideas that have no collective energy, therefore no impact.  The idea may be ahead of its time.  If your goal is growth, never fall in love with the idea without understanding the collective energy.

Reflection:

What energy (ideas, people, etc.) do you naturally attract?  Is it positive or negative?

Action Step:

Play with ways to attract more positive and diverse energy into your life.
